These materials will help my students learn in a different way other than pencil and paper. All my students come from a low income, urban area, and teaching them by using these different manipulatives will strengthen their fine motor skills, recognition of numbers, letters, and words. Each of them learn in different ways and by including these will make learning fun! Learning hands on by using each of these items is a great way to actually see who needs the extra help or who can move onto something else. My students will work in small groups using each of these kits to gain confidence with the alphabet and numbers. From find a letter activity center to tracing letters, my students will have the ability to recognize and have guidance on how to form each letter of the alphabet by using those items. Using the build a word center activities, my students will look at a picture, sound out letter sounds, and grab letters to make the word. The unlock it and count and link activities will help my students fine motor skills get stronger all the while learning one to one correspondence.
