Brilliant Brains Need to Bounce and Wobble
Funded Sep 21, 2022I can't begin to explain how much your generous gifts have helped support my students. First, the ability for every child to have options available for flexible seating has made the classroom environment inviting and comfortable for all students. Some do better on wobble chairs to give them instant kinetic feedback for those that must move when learning. The cushions are used by several who want a softer seat either in their chair or on the carpet. The adjustable floor seats are the best place to read a book. They continue to flock to those seats to curl up and enjoy a great book. Speaking of books, the leveled readers are a great addition to our classroom library. The students use these during their daily independent reading practice. They are perfect for most of our early readers to gain fluency and comprehension skills during station rotations. Some students will sit and read the same book together, while others work their way through some of the longer chapter books. Thank you again for your tremendous generosity.”

Funded Sep 18, 2021It is will a very happy heart I report that we are using all the donated items to keep our classroom organized and healthy by reducing the items that shared among the students. We use the containers to keep student items in place and separated. This helps to keep their desks neatly organized by giving them space to put their manipulatives, pouches, and books that don't fit in their desks. This also gives our composition notebooks a consistent place to live. Nothing makes this teacher and her co-teacher happier than organization!!!!
We use the zipper pouches to contain writing utensils, crayons, erasers, pencil sharpeners, scissors and glue sticks. The large pouches are used for manipulatives and task cards used for practice and small group tasks. These also help reduce our chances of having large classroom quarantines. We are thankful that we have only had 3 students who have been personally affected by COVID and only one large classroom quarantine. Our larger bins are for papers that are printed and ready to use for morning work, math and reading tasks, turned in work, and graded work. There's nothing more that having papers neatly organized in stacks that are quickly accessible...and not scattered on our teaching surfaces.
Thank you for caring for us by providing the items for this project. We are so very thankful for your generous gifts! Hopefully these organizational strategies will teach our students how important organization is in order to work efficiently. Thank you again for your thoughtful donations!”

Funded May 16, 2020You have played an important role in our student's lives, and sometimes even pictures can't tell the whole story. All of our students were very weak readers and were not fans of math when we first received them in September. By the time that our schools were closed for the pandemic, our students had become bookworms and math scholars. My co-teacher and I were so sad that our year was cut short knowing that our students need to remain engaged to continue their learning. Not many of our students come from homes with any positive stimulation with encouragement for academic growth. So today, was a great day for our students.
Today I was able to begin deliveries to their homes during this quarantine. Each student was eagerly waiting for this delivery. They were so excited to have new books to read and math activities to do. Some could not contain themselves with excitement. One student even hugged every item as she pulled it out of her bag. She is one who can never get her hands on enough things to learn. She makes my heart smile and hopefully your heart will smile as well, knowing that you helped these beautiful children continue on the path to learning-even if it is learning at home. Thank you for this gift!”
