In our diverse classroom, we only have one computer and the students only have one period a week where they go to the computer lab. Our students would benefit greatly from having these Chromebooks in the classroom. These computers would be used in multiple subject areas to help teach our students modern skills for the 21st century, as well as support the practice and reinforcement of skills to help them succeed throughout this school year. These computers would be used to help teach our students how to conduct research and write research reports, as well as to publish their writing pieces in a modern way. Students would use these Chromebooks to supplement our mathematics instruction and provide opportunities for students to engage with math in different ways. Our students will also use these Chromebooks to practice different reading strategies in order to help them become stronger and more confident readers. The computers will also allow us to incorporate science and social studies into the classroom through unique and engaging activities. Students would use these computers during our reading, writing, and mathematics small group rotations. We also want our students to leave our elementary school with the technological skills and knowledge needed for them to be successful in their middle school journeys and beyond. In addition, the students need to develop these skills to become active members of our society because virtually everything in our world is connected to the internet.
