These books will add to my ever growing library in the classroom, and the single books are selected based on what my students this year are interested in reading and learning more about. Even some of the books in the collections are about what they are interested in.
Even though we are learning and teaching from home right now, and there are many digital books that the students have access to, I do not want my students to forget the feeling of holding an actual book in their hands and flipping the pages as they read. With that said, I feel that it is important that I model reading physical books regularly even if it has to be done virtually. With these books in my hands, I will be able to read aloud to my students virtually, I can let them borrow the books to read at home, and I can help support them to becoming the best versions of themselves; curious, creative, and always ready to learn and grow.
