  • Clay Making and Paint Markers

    Funded Oct 13, 2019

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. It has made a tremendous impact. To say the students are thrilled is an understatement.

We ended up using the clay for pinch pots instead of tiles. Students loved experimenting with the clay. They would walk through the door the following week excitedly chatting about the project. This is a medium we would have never been able to use if it weren't for your generous donation.

We are currently using the paint makers to outline large flowers. This is another medium the students have never used, so they were very intrigued by it.

Once again, thank you so much. Your donation has made my students' faces light up! We all appreciate it so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gordon

My students love to be hands on. Clay provides a wonderful experience for students to develop their sensory, fine motor, and problem-solving skills. It can be challenging to create 3D artwork with limited supplies, so the clay will be a wonderful medium to introduce to students. They will be given time to explore with the clay, as well as learn certain clay techniques, ending with a final project. The empty daubers will be filled with the India Ink and used as paint markers to help support students' 2D work. Students will be able to complete numerous artworks with this tool. While traditional markers quickly dry out, these will provide endless ink and will be much more user-friendly. These new art materials will create wonderful learning opportunities for my students that they would otherwise not be able to experience.
