Help Me Build an Inclusive Classroom for Special Learners!
Funded Aug 28, 2024It has been a few months since you made it possible to complete my project. These materials have really made a powerful impact in my classroom with my students. When our materials first arrived my students were super excited!
As a teacher, it is up to us to create our classroom and even though we want to give all the resources possible to our students that can be difficult. Through your help I was able to provide materials that my students need and make learning fun.
A majority of my students are on the autism spectrum and they have specific needs not always found in a traditional classroom. Thanks to this project I was able to provide specific items that can help them adapt to the educational learning environment. Therefore I am thankful for your support.”

Sensory Support for Kindergarteners with Special Needs
Funded Sep 26, 2023Once again I would like to express my gratitude for your donation to my donors choose project back in September. Our class received all the materials within weeks of fully funding our project. Our students and classroom staff were amazed and beyond excited about all the materials we received.
Through this project we received sensory tools such as fidget tools, play-doh, play-doh accessories, and sand. Sensory tools are a big part of our everyday transitions to and from the classroom. It makes it easier for students to stand in line, wait their turn, and helps them regulate their emotions and manage behaviors.
We also received connecting cubes which have become a huge part of our daily math lessons. My students use the connecting cubes as counters as they learn their numbers and apply the touch and count strategy to add and subtract. They even use them to build robots when they have completed their math work. These connecting cubes have made our lessons more engaging and increased student participating.
We received many sensory toys such as legos, puzzles, blocks, and art supplies. We have incorporated them into our choice time where students are learning how to share, how to communicate with one another, work together, learn how to move from one station to another, and work on improving their fine motor skills. These skills have transferred into everyday skills in and outside the classroom.
These materials have helped my students immensely. A majority of my students are autistic and finding tools that help them learn is extremely important. Thank you for contributing to our learning. Happy Holidays!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Martinez
