I strive to create a classroom library that is engaging and exciting for my students. I want the books in the library to reach a wide audience, so I am looking to have more current, popular books within the library (they love Dork Diaries!). Flashlight Friday Independent Reading will transform my classroom into a blacked out, magical room where students will use their flashlights to read their independent books. By adding new series to my classroom library, as well as transforming my classroom so students look forward to independent reading, I hope to engage my students and help build their love of reading.
