A majority of the materials I chose will allow me to convert my classroom to have flexible seating. As a middle school teacher I frequently have students asking to sit on the ground and learn in non traditional ways. I polled my students to see what kind of flexible seating they would like to see in the class and those results are represented here. Many students mentioned the yoga balls and floor desks and were extremely excited to have an option besides the standard desk and chair. Another great idea was the bench seat that could be pulled up to the desks. The laminator will allow me to create reusable handouts for the class and supplemental aids for my special education students. A large number of my students are from lower income houses and frequently need pencils. The colored pencil class set will also help this as the ones who do not have them will still be able to complete maps and charts that we create. Plicker cards, and the wall holder for the cards will allow the students to have formative assessments in a fun way which will also increase learning. Each item will help build a better classroom experience, increase organization and productivity, and help each and every student learn to the best of their individual abilities.
