These multicultural books will be used in a variety of ways. Initially, they will be used as read alouds in the classroom. In addition, the adult members of the school community will create video recordings of these stories that will then be posted on our school pages. This will give students multiple opportunities to experience these books. They will be able to hear and interact with the story in school with their classmates. Then, they will have the additional opportunity to share these stories with their families and friends. Multicultural literature allows students to gain a deeper appreciation of themselves and the people around them. They are able to develop critical thinking skills, empathy and self-worth.
