  • Wildcats' Ultimate Self-Care Guide!

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

This self-care project has been incredibly meaningful for my students, particularly those with autism. It has allowed them to develop and maintain essential habits that support their physical and emotional well-being. For students with autism, self-care goes beyond basic health routines—it involves creating personalized strategies and routines that help them manage sensory sensitivities, regulate their emotions, and navigate the often-overwhelming world around them. Through this project, students learned how to set up sensory-friendly spaces for moments of calm, follow regular sleep schedules, make healthy food choices, and engage in physical activities that help them stay focused and grounded.

The project also provided my students with valuable tools to nurture their mental and emotional health. They developed coping strategies for anxiety, used visual aids to stay organized, and found ways to relax by engaging with their special interests. Most importantly, the project encouraged regular communication with trusted adults and peers, fostering a supportive and understanding environment. This self-care initiative has empowered my students to not only manage their personal needs but also to thrive academically and socially, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and helping them feel more confident in their ability to succeed in both school and daily life.”

  • Headphones for Better Effectiveness

    Funded Nov 1, 2024

The headphones play a pivotal role in enhancing the learning experience for my students, helping them focus and engage more effectively with audio content. One of the primary benefits of headphones is their ability to isolate students from external noise, creating a quieter, more controlled environment. This is especially important in settings where distractions are common, such as libraries, crowded classrooms, or study halls. In these environments, the surrounding noise can easily interfere with concentration, making it difficult for students to fully absorb the material. Headphones act as a barrier against these distractions, allowing students to create their own space and focus entirely on their work or studies.

In addition to minimizing external noise, headphones improve the overall listening experience by offering clearer sound quality. Many students rely on audio resources such as online lectures, podcasts, and language lessons to complement their traditional studies. These resources often require close attention to detail and high sound clarity to be effective. By using headphones, students can hear every word with greater precision, which is particularly important when engaging with complex or technical material. The improved sound quality ensures that students don't miss key information, which could otherwise lead to gaps in understanding and comprehension. Whether it's listening to a detailed lecture or practicing a foreign language, clearer audio makes it easier for students to follow along and retain the material.”

  • Leveraging Snacks as Rewards to Encourage Positive Behavior!

    Funded Sep 9, 2024

First and foremost, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for putting smiles on my students' faces by funding this project. Since my students have lunch at 10:00 a.m., they often find themselves hungry by the end of the school day. Many of them head to parks after school, which means they get home late in the afternoon. They absolutely love having treats before they leave school, so I'm truly thankful for how quickly this project was funded.

Your support has made a significant difference in their day, and I can't thank you enough for making this possible. A big thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life—we are extremely grateful for the kindness and generosity from our families, friends, and community members. Your support means the world to us, and we appreciate everything you've done to brighten our students' days!”

  • Listening for Learning Knowledge

    Funded Jan 6, 2023

My students are learning in a way that is considerably different from how our educational system was initially intended since the learning environment is more dynamic than ever. Classrooms are being redesigned and reinvented in a variety of ways to meet the changing needs of contemporary digital learners because of technological innovation and the advent of remote learning. It is our goal, however, to bring more technology into their academic studies in order to better prepare them for possible vocational careers in the community. This group of students is just as eager as everyone else to learn about technology and innovation in the real world. My students are super excited to have the headphones, the fact that they are allowed to tune out outside interference and focus completely on their assignments has helped them become more independent. Thank you once again for enhancing my learning environment.”

  • Wildcats Uniform Regulations

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

We would like to take this time to thank all of you from the bottom of our heart for your donations Donor's Choose. My self-contained IND class has been utilizing the uniforms to follow the mandatory uniform policy. A lot of our parents are on fixed income and can't afford to buy uniforms, so that causes most of them to come to school out of compliance. Thanks to your generous donation as you can tell by the smiles on their face, they're very happy and their self-esteem is very high.

Also, my students are beyond excited to look like the rest of the. My school is over 96% free and reduced lunch, and most of my students have shirt that are faded and have holes in them. And this causes them to be withdrawn and not wanting other students to see them and most of my kids have a certain pride about their appearance and by having new uniforms give them a new outlook on how they feel, and it gives them confidence about fitting in with the rest of the student body.

Thank you for envisioning color in their lives!”
