Through the shift in learning between online and the classroom, in light of COVID-19, my students have had to develop new skills to accomplish their tasks. Having a class lab set of document holders for each computer will help students to accomplish their goals of being more proficient in typing because they can easily go back and forth from reading a text to typing it. This will align with at least 3 of the objectives in our Foundational Skills technology standards. Using Makey Makey STEM kits will bring engineering and coding concepts to life in exciting new ways. I have heard many students suggest that the hardest part about having to shift their focus to online learning was that there was so much time in front of a computer and not as much hands-on anymore. Using these Makey Makey kits, students will be able to create and code using physical objects within their reach. Having 8 of these kits will directly influence Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration as students work together to problem-solve and create!
