This year, our flooring has been changed from carpet to tile. The students in my classroom come from classrooms that provided flexible seating. My students love to be able to move about the room, but with the tile, comfortable options are limited. I have some flexible seating options available for students, however some of the options I have provided in the past are no longer useable or comfortable. Students at this age love to spread out, get comfy, and collaborate. Fifth graders know what they need to work effectively. By providing some additional options in my classroom that are sturdy, the students can choose their ideal working environment. Students love to be able to sit, stand, get comfortable, and feel at home. The seating options I have chosen will allow more students to choose their best learning environment, especially with the new style of flooring.
