As a Paraprofessional in a Title 1 school, we teach research based curriculum in small groups according to their level of learning. I work with students who are struggling with their reading and math. Under our work classification we do not have the opportunity as much as others to attend professional development programs to better our knowledge of the subjects we teach. Having the opportunity to attend the Teach Your Heart Out conference in San Diego will be a way for me to learn researched based strategies for reading and math from top expert professionals. I will apply what I learn to my lessons and make them applicable to the students level of learning. I want to fuel my students eagerness in learning and make them succeed. The best reward I get is watching their face expressions when they know they had reached their individual class goal.
