After returning to in-person learning as a result of the pandemic, children are experiencing a variety of emotions. Some of these emotions may include anxiety, sadness, fear, and worry, which can feel overwhelming to students as they relearn school culture and norms. Part of easing students' re-entry process includes helping them develop calming and self-regulating techniques. One such technique focuses on sensory experiences, using visual and tactile elements. The Water Panel accomplishes this as a soothing tool for students to manage and process "big" emotions. Managing these emotions will help reduce students' stress levels as they reacclimate to in-person learning.
