Students benefit from supplementary resources to support their social and emotional learning at school. Students who struggle with social skills and emotional regulation tend to have a harder time focusing on their academic work. These resources are intended to assist students with learning strategies to become a more productive student and school/community citizen. Some examples of social skills that can be taught with these materials are taking a break, sharing, apologizing, maintaining personal space, learning how not to tattle, and learning how not to interrupt others. These skills are taught through reading stories that students find highly engaging. Students can even practice their reading while learning valuable life skills! Students can also learn effective ways to take a break that do not distracting others from learning.
