Our students have so much energy and joy for basketball. Right now, we do not have enough basketballs for all of our students to be practicing at the same time.
Our goal is that all of our players have a basketball in their hands so that they are not wasting practice time waiting. We want them all engaged and participating in drills that will teach them what they need to learn to be more confident players.
Also, for many of these players, this after school team is their first time to practice basketball in an organized and structured setting and we want to make sure they have a positive experience.
The kids are so excited about and focused on basketball that we have decided to expand our program from one day a week to two days a week. This means that we, as coaches, will be able to give the players more attention and time during each practice. These additional balls will help us to capitalize on this time with our players. Instead of a few kids practicing, the whole team will be mastering the foundational skills and new skills to develop as team players.
