In math, all of my students want to work on a Chromebook, but they are limited at my school. We have carts, but carts have to be requested in advance and may not be available. If I were to be granted the tablets for my class, I would use them in a station approach. Meaning, I could work with have the students one on one, while the other students work on the computer. Then students could rotate, allowing me to have more time with students in a class, instead of signing up for a computer lab, gathering my students, walking to the lab and booting up the computers. These days, technology is a huge push in schools, and there are many programs that my students could benefit from using. Due to the varying ability levels, I teach at one time, it would be easier for me to differentiate instruction with the use of the tablets for my classroom. At this time, I teach 8th-grade math and am required to teach all students the curriculum. As a teacher, I like to develop all of the math skills a student will need to have a good foundation. So, students who are low would be able to work on the tablets using a program catered specifically to their learning, while students who are higher, I can teach the district's curriculum. When it is time to test, I can have half the students begin testing, while the other half studies until it is their opportunity to test. Having the tablets for my class would allow us most of all flexibility to work in class with the least disruptions. Thank you in advance to whoever decides to assist me with this project! Do know already, that your blessings will be much appreciated.
