Many of my students have sensory issues and having a weighted blanket can calm them down quickly. Once calm, they can process with me. I can't accomplish what I need to with the students unless they are regulated. Fidgets in the counseling office will make a huge difference for my students. When they are nervous, it helps to have something in their hands to play with. They open up much more with me. Having a weighted blanket and fidgets will help my students feel more comfortable, safe, and secure! If they feel safe & secure, they can become regulated and be able to go back to class ready to learn.
