Being an elementary art teacher has to be hands down one of the most fulfilling jobs in the world. I want the BEST for all of my students when it comes to the art experience. Currently I am servicing about 470 students weekly, from pre-school to fifth grade which includes an autism program. These materials will generally be used in upper elementary 3rd-5th with a focus on self identity. Students will be creating a series of projects that include self portraits, creating a bust of themselves, learning how to the draw the human figure and printmaking. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve the Art experience, but also help increase their academic achievement through art integrated lessons. Understanding one's identity is a big part of growing up and I plan to dedicate a big part of my art lessons to the idea so that students become self aware and confident with whom they are becoming. I want my students to enjoy art and at the same time leave their mark on the world in a positive light. I will use all of these materials over the years because these are not consumables, so by funding this project you will help my students with their identity for years to come.
