  • "Easel-e" Make a BIG Impact on Literacy

    Funded May 13, 2023

Thank you for the means to "easel-e" display big books in our classroom! My students have loved listening to and retelling stories on a daily basis using this easel. It has made it much easier for our visually impaired students to see and participate.

One of the favorite stories so far this year was Mouse Paint. The students listened intently and excitedly retold the story using the props that were donated. After completing the retell they each had the opportunity to explore and mix colors on their own. These art projects were displayed around our room. They excited shared with one another about the colors they were making.

Thank you for assisting me with creating a love for literacy which will follow these children throughout their lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sara

  • Personal Expression and Emotional Regulation

    Funded Jul 22, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation which has increase our students' access to personal art expression. They have been loving stamping and using the dot markers for a variety of different activities.

The breathing boards, mindfulness mazes, gel emotion friends, emotion slider and other emotional regulation supplies are being used on a daily basis. It has been amazing to see individual students labeling their emotions while they work through difficult situations.

Your donation is making a daily impact and is teaching children how to work through a wide range of emotions. Thank you for your generosity. It is changing the world one child at a time.”

    With gratitude,

  • Resources for a Special Education Preschool

    Funded Jul 11, 2021

Thank you for your support which has provided the means to access new ways of learning for my students. A variety of literacy and mathematical skills are being taught and mastered through the use of Boom Cards which I was able to purchase through the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card due to your generous donations. My students are more engaged and motivated to participate through the use of this technology, which can be used individually, in small groups or whole group lessons. Thank you again for providing the means for me to access the use of this technology and these materials to assist my students' learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sara

  • A Voice for Every Child

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you for your support which has opened up the window of communication to many students. Since receiving the iPads in our classroom, which you helped to fund, many of my students are now able express their wants and needs clearly rather than sitting in silence. Their peers who used to think these students could not communicate are now seeking to play with and interact more with these students. Friendships are being built and voices are being heard. Your donation has made a world of difference within the last few months and will continue to do so for years to come. Thank you for providing a voice for every child in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sara

Communication is a daily focus in my classroom. It is an essential part of daily living. It is how we connect with one another. Many of my students are nonverbal. They do their best to communicate using sign language, pointing and form approximations to words. They often become frustrated because they are not understood and cannot communicate their thoughts and feelings adequately due to not having the words. For some this is due to difficulties with expressively language or articulation. For others, it is because of oral motor difficulties so they are not able to move their mouths to form sounds, lead alone words to express themselves. By donating to our project, you will be providing a voice to every student in my classroom. You will be changing their lives by helping them be heard and understood through the use of picture communication boards. With the use of an assistive technology app, this iPad will be used solely for communication purposes so my students can communicate and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding as well as socialize during play time.
