We Can Lead if You Help Us Read! Literacy Matters!
Funded Sep 12, 2022Thank you for your willingness to give to such an amazing cause!! We are currently using the resources during our center time (small group). During small group activities that take place during center time, I have the opportunity to hone in on literacy and math skills while giving students the option to pick the activity that they prefer.
When my students first saw the box, they were excited! I shared with them that some very kind people wanted to help them get ready for kindergarten. Their excitement was through the roof!! From the play-dough to the "all about me" portraIts, from the fishing games to the play-dough alphabet mats, they couldn't contain their excitement! Everyday, they come with a willingness to learn because your contribution has contributed to their learning being FUN!!
The next step for the students is to build words which will also help create stories! Letters make words, and words make stories. It is my hope in the near future that students will be able to express themselves in literacy and give their work language by continually building their literacy skills, one brick at a time!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cesar

Funded Sep 25, 2019Thank you so much for your generosity towards this classroom! From the moment that we received the supplies, the students were filled with excitement and were excited to begin learning content through music and the accompanying beanbags. A number of students who were struggling with literacy skills at the beginning of the year now come in every morning anticipating a new song teaching them about the letters of the alphabet as well as some movement to strengthen their gross motor skills. Students not only have the ability to connect their literacy skills to the music being played as well as the beanbags involved, but students also have the ability to use the same music and integrate it into our lessons of the day that focus on a variety of themes. Our class is known as the "Zumba class" because our bodies are always moving as we use our music to learn.
This package as well as the experience that it has given the students has encouraged them to want to come to school as well as learn. Parents have shared how their children come home singing some of the songs and doing some of the dance moves that they've learned at school, and they share their gratitude for creating such an environment where children enjoy learning. none of this could've been done without your support. Words aren't enough to share the mont of gratitude that we have; nevertheless, from the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cesar
