March Madness Let's Glow Read - A - Thon
Funded Mar 8, 2023With your support and generosity, my students were able to have an awesome Glow In the Dark Party! They worked so hard during the month of March and each read 100 books. We have already seen how much this read-a-thon has improved their reading skills and reading fluency. We are so grateful that you helped us give them such a memorable reward for all of their hard work.
My students read with the finger lights, played make a word hopscotch, spelled words in glow painted rice, and unscramble sentences written in invisible ink. Everyone was impressed with how much work they put in and how incredible the party turned out. Thank you again for your support! You really gave these 2nd graders a lasting memory for their hard work.”
With gratitude,

Rising 3rd Grade Superstars
Funded May 6, 2022Thank you thank you thank you for all of your support for my students! Words cannot express how grateful we are for your donations. My 2nd graders have finally had a full in-person school for the first time since they were in Pre-K! I am so happy that we were able to celebrate all that they have overcome and all of their accomplishments this year with amazing end of the year gifts. They now have reusable water bottles of their own to stay hydrated through the summer and the next school year. They also get to enjoy Pop-its, squishy toys, and beach balls to play with their friends over the summer. Thank you again for all of your support!”

Funded Jan 13, 2022My students were ecstatic when boxes of packages started arriving to our school. From the moment they saw the boxes they knew it was their Donor Choose items and couldn't wait to start using everything that was ordered. Students have been using their styluses to complete work on their tablets. They have been super helpful in organizing their work and making their assignments easier to read and understand. We have been using the vacuum to keep our carpets clean and have put up the snowflake decorations to lighten up the classroom. When students saw the decorations they exclaimed, "Now it's pretty in here!" Students have also been earning their Fun Friday indoor recess where they get to enjoy their new board games and socialize with their friends. During center times, students have been using the comfortable seats to work on their iPads or write assignments using the clipboards. My students are extremely grateful for these new additions to our classroom. Students are learning about how NYC has changed overtime and are working to redesign their school playground. My students are looking forward to beginning their next project!”

2nd Graders Guide to Success
Funded May 26, 2021Thank you so much for helping to fund our project! These 2nd graders have experienced a school year like no other and they have finally made it to the end of the year. We are so happy we can celebrate all they have learned both academically and social emotionally with items they need as they progress in their education.
These items will help students be successful in the upcoming school year! We created this project to support students and teachers as they begin to think about next year. Students received scooters and roller blades to exercise and play with their friends over the summer. Throughout the pandemic, students were very limited in their ability to be able to see their friends. Now that things are moving in a positive direction, we can't wait for them to socialize and have fun with their peers all summer!
Students also received headphones, iPad chargers, and iPad styluses. Learning in 2021 is now more technology based then ever! Students use their iPads throughout the school day and at home in almost every subject. Now that they use their iPads so much these accessories are crucial to creating the best learning environment for them. Thank you for providing these great things for our scholars!”

Blended Learning Readers!
Funded Aug 31, 2020Thank you so much for supporting my students this year! This year especially has been a year like no other and has truly brought new barriers for them to overcome in their learning. Due to the pandemic my students have been learning through the hybrid model of some days learning in school and some days learning remotely. The inconsistency and lack of participation online has really set them back in their education. However, thanks to your help they have been able to have some tools necessary to engage and aid them in their learning.
Your donations helped to pay for personal headphones for my students. Now whether they are learning in school or online they will be able to use their technology to the fullest extent. When you are learning from home it is sometimes hard to find a quiet place away from TVs and conversations. Thanks to these headphones it allows my students to block out the sound around them and focus on their lessons. Also, in the classroom students have online learning tools that are a crucial part of their learning. With these headphones they can focus on the work in front of them and not be distracted by small groups talking around the classroom.
Your donations also helped pay for Whisper Phones and Echo Microphones to help my students hear themselves read, hear new phonics sounds better, and speak loud and proud when participating in class discussions. We sincerely thank you for your support and hope that you will continue to support our learning in the future!”
