  • All Things Grow with Love, and Soil!

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your very generous donation! The kids are so excited to get their hands dirty and make a difference in their community!

We are so excited to grow our sprouts indoors so we can enjoy the fruits of our labor before the summer comes. This garden provides many of the people in the community with fresh produce who may not have the luxury of purchasing it from the store. The children beam with pride when they are able to provide for those in need.

The children learn so much from taking part in the community garden. They learn about supporting our community, but they also learn about taking care of the planet!

Thank you again for supporting our garden!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maloney

  • Learning is Fun!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for the wonderful math games and the fun learning tools!

The children have been enjoying the games and the heart models!

We have been learning about the human heart and the models of the heart truly helped the kids understand the parts of the heart!

They have been having a blast playing the multiplication games! They beg to play them during center time. This has made learning multiplication tables so much more fun and engaging. They are learning but they really think they are playing.

Thank you again for your amazing donation!”

  • Beautiful Book Bags!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for the amazing bags to keep our class library books safe and clean! The kids had so much fun decorating them and adding their own personal touch!

It was great to launch our reading workshop and independent reading by decorating bags to keep our books safe! The children were so engaged and this went perfectly with the lesson on how to take care of our classroom library books. They now each have their own decorated bag so their independent reading books can be safe during lunch, recess or homework time.

Thank you again for your very generous donation!”

  • Leave Your Bookmark!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! The children had so much fun making their own bookmark!

This activity allowed me to launch our reading workshop in an engaging way. The children were able to create their own, unique bookmark that shared some of their identity! They now have a page saver and a memory that will stay with them. I am hopeful that activities like this are not only memorable but also help to connect the kids to reading, ensuring they will be life long learners! Thank you again for your support!”

  • If You Can Read This Thank a Teacher!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your very generous donation of books! The smiles on the kids faces would melt your heart. They immediately ran to the library and grabbed the new titles and began to read.

We will be using the books to engage in an authors study, book clubs and reading circles. The new titles have added life to a very old library! We have already formed groups based on interest to launch our first book club centered around the texts of Roald Dahl.

Thank you for donating to my classroom. The kids and myself are so grateful!”

  • Hydrated, Healthy, and Happy!

    Funded May 27, 2022

Thank you so very much for your donation towards water bottles and healthy snacks. The children were able to enjoy sipping water throughout lesson time instead of leaving the room for a drink. This was very appreciated especially in June when it was very hot. Using the refillable water bottles also added an impact to the unit we were doing on taking care of the planet. We spend time learning about why we should avoid single use plastics. The children were also very excited to have healthy snacks to munch on during the long morning before lunch. They often come to school very hungry and can not focus. The snacks filled their bellies and allowed them to stay focused on learning. THANK YOU!”

  • Literacy Is Life!

    Funded Jan 28, 2022

I would like to take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude for your donation of books for my classroom. Teaching in a public school can be tough due to the financial constraints. There is never money to enhance the classroom library which would increase engagement in reading. My library was filled with dusty outdated texts that the children needed to be forced to read. During independent reading time children would read for a maximum sustained period of 5 minutes before completely checking out. They saw reading as a chore that they need not want to complete. The skill of sustained reading which should be up to 45 minutes in fourth grade was very far from being accomplished.

Once your donation of books entered our class library we saw a total change in not only the attitude towards reading but the attitude towards school in general. The kids are asking for more sustained reading time. They are focussed and engaging in discussions around the new texts. They are excited to bring the books to the lunchroom to continue they're reading. The sustained focus during independent reading has already soared to 45 minutes!

I see the struggling readers in may class so excited to improve their reading skills so they can read all of the new texts available to them. These books have truly changed fourth grade for them. Thank you so very much for bringing literacy into their lives in such an engaging way!”

  • All Things Grow With Love And A Little Soil!

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank you. Your generosity not only helped children build a larger garden but also helped to add beauty to our community. Our Garden team, or Green Team as we call them can't wait for Spring to arrive to plant and get their hands dirty. We have already opened a few bags to begin some indoor sprouting which we can transplant outside when the weather warms up.

The kids were so excited when the soil arrived! Last year we wanted to expand our garden and plant more but the soil was costly and we had already spent money purchasing the raised beds and garden tools. When they saw more soil they were jumping up and down and thinking about all of the things they want to plant in the new areas of the garden.

We really hope that our humble little garden patch grows and grows. I believe it will inspire our next generation of nature lovers and tree huggers in a time when trees really need those hugs. Nature is a beautiful thing but when you live in a concrete jungle we often forget this. Thank you again for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maloney

At oUr school we started a Green Team to share the message of sustainability throughout the school. Each month has a different focus which includes lessons, art activities, performances and garden activities. Some of the monthly themes or focuses include keep the sea plastic free, eat local, protect our pollinators, skip a straw save a sea turtle and turn off the tap to conserve water. We launch the monthly initiative with a pep rally and would like to include a raffle prize to get the children excited. The raffle prizes support the monthly focus such as using bamboo toothbrushes to cut down on plastic waste and stainless steel straws and water bottles. We need help funding the raffle prizes.
