  • A Clean Class Brings a Healthy Class

    Funded Oct 7, 2024

Thank you for the Clorox wipes funded through this project. My scholars are loving the clean appearance and smell of the clean equipment being used. The wipes have been used to clean scooters and jump ropes thus far. In a few weeks scholars will be participating in our ball handling lessons which scholars will hold their own cleaned and sanitized ball.

Since the equipment has been receiving extra sanitized cleaning through the Clorox wipes, our scholars seem to be healthier and love smelling the cleanliness in our classroom. Thank you again for helping our class to be a clean and healthy class!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Powell

  • PE at 6 Feet Apart

    Funded Feb 19, 2022

Our scholars were very excited to see and hold their own individual bouncing ball. They were also excited when we made our magical moves with the scarfs. The balls have numbers on them which made it great to incorporate content integration of math with counting, adding and subtracting numbers. Included in our order were air pumps. The air pumps made it more special when scholars pumped up their own balls.

Thank you again for bringing individualized playing and content integration to our Physical Education Class while keeping us 6 feet apart!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Powell

  • Cooperative Parachute Play

    Funded Sep 25, 2019

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic and the closing of schools, our scholars did not get a chance to participate in the fun planned activities with our neon colorful parachutes. They did get a chance to see and touch them. They were excited and loved the neon colors. They described the fabric as a warm feeling and fun!

Because of each donors purchase of the neon parachutes, our scholars would have learned sharing and teamwork. Realizing that each scholar is unique, the parachute activities would have offered lots of health benefits. In addition, the parachute games would have encouraged cooperative play and reinforced turn-taking. Lastly, skills of communication and following directions would have been displayed. Music was planned in a few parachute activities which this would have helped with developing a sense of rhythm. Most of all the parachute activities would have been fun!

Not knowing what next school year will look like, hopefully my scholars will be able to participate in the planned parachute activities. Thank you donors for bringing more fun to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Powell

These large parachutes will be great in our elementary school gym because we are focusing on kindness this school year. The parachutes encourage cooperative play which is important when incorporating kindness into our physical education program. The rugged parachutes encourage non-competitive, cooperative play. When scholars make the parachutes billow, they strengthen shoulder, arm and hand muscles, refine motor skills and develop a sense of rhythm. I'm asking for six parachutes to use in small groups in my physical education classes. I teach about sixty scholars in each of my classes each day which consists of grade levels kindergarten through fifth grade. Having the six parachutes will be a huge contribution to my Physical Education program.
