My students have submitted hundreds of college applications, dozens of scholarships, and worked hard on completing the FAFSA. As they start to receive college acceptances and solidify their plans for next year, we recognize this is only the first step. My students will have to navigate how to succeed as low income first generation college students and material items are a large part of that success. Decision Day is a school wide event where we will honor each senior and their success over the past four years, as well as their plan after graduation. This is both an opportunity for younger students to see what hard work can get them, and to celebrate our seniors and their commitment to 2 or 4-year schools, trade schools, military etc. During Decision Day we will be raffling off various prizes that will help students succeed in their post-secondary plans. Your donation will go towards items that will help smooth the students transition to life after high school. Some of our raffle items include college dorm room supplies such as sheets, towels, and a mini fridge. Others will be geared towards academic success, such as notebooks and computers that are standard in many college classrooms. These items are all intended to make our students transitions, both social and academic, easier. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated by our students and their families.
