Trampolines in PE
Funded Mar 5, 2025Thank you so very much for your gracious donation toward my Trampolines in PE project. I am always amazed by the wonderful people who support my Physical Education program.
The Trampolines will be used to encourage our students to work on their balance while bouncing and also giving them a chance to have some fun during stations! I am excited to start implementing them into my curriculum and lessons.
Thank you again for helping me support my students with new equipment! We are so happy you can be part of our success!”

Funded Mar 27, 2023Thank you so much for your gracious donation to my project, "Hockey Fun". I greatly appreciate your support of my physical education program. My younger students love the smaller hockey sticks we were provided through our DonorsChoose project.
The hockey sticks are shorter and lighter for our kindergarten and first grade students to use during PE. Our students are able to control the shorter hockey stick while moving a ball around the floor. They can easily pass it to a partner, gain control of the ball and then pass back. We love now that our students are able to apply different types of movement when playing hockey. They can use the hockey stick to strike an object.
Our students are always happy to use the new equipment. We have been short 4 or 5 hockey sticks. Students have had to use golf clubs as hockey sticks so every student has something to use. We will now be able to have a hockey stick for all our students. Thank you so much for your support! We are blessed to have wonderful donors who support all areas of education.”

Funded Jan 11, 2023Thank you so much for your gracious donation to my project "Soccer Fun". I am amazed by how many wonderful people we have in our community! I am so excited to incorporate our two new soccer goals into our curriculum. The soccer goals will be used when we head outside to play soccer with our students. The nets will help them focus on where to kick the soccer ball when we are practicing kicking during our lesson. When our older students play soccer, we will be able to have multiple soccer games going on at one time.
We will also be able to use the soccer nets while inside during the winter. We can use the soccer nets as a target for throwing with our younger students. Giving them a smaller target to focus on will help them work on their throwing motion and proper footwork. We can do so many different activities and games with our students because of our new goals - thanks to you!!!
Again, thank you so much for your donation to my project! I am so very grateful for your support of my PE program and students! I look forward to getting outside with our new nets!!”

Tug O War
Funded Aug 30, 2022Thank you so much for donating to my Tug O War Rope project. The students LOVED using the ropes for Tug O War! It took a few tries for them to figure out what to do and how to pull as a group. Once they figured it out, to work as a team, they were an awesome team.
We were outside when we used the ropes with our older students. Our younger students came into PE and they wanted to use the Tug O War ropes immediately!! I am so excited to add in another fun piece of equipment our students can play with in PE! Thank you so much for your help and support of our Physical Education program.”

Funded Nov 18, 2021Thank you all so very much for your generous donation to my project "Odds and Ends". With the purchase of the new equipment, we are able to replace some of our older, falling apart equipment.
The new bases will be used outside during kickball and softball for our older students. They are much larger than our old ones and can be seen easier in the grass.
We now have plenty of larger scoops for our students to use. Our old scoops have a smaller basket to catch a ball. The new ones are larger and longer. Students will now be able to catch the ball quicker with less frustration of it bouncing out. We have a lot of scoops that are put together with tape as well. We can give these to recess for another activity for them to play.
Our hula hoops are in the worst shape. Students love to tug on them or pull each other around on scooters. Many of our hula hoops are bent or have been pulled apart. The new hula hoops will be stored in the yellow and red bags. These will be kept separate and only used for specific hula hoops activities.
Thank you all so much for your amazing donation. We are blessed to have wonderful people be part of our project!! Your kindness is greatly appreciated!!!!”

Funded May 18, 2021Thank you so much for your support of my "Let's Play Horseshoes" project! Your generous donation made it possible for our PE Department to receive more equipment for our students to use during their PE class. Our class was in need of a few more sets of horseshoes as well as the black mats that the students throw towards when they play. Last year, we had to use paint to make the "mat" area for our throwers. It worked but the mats are so much better!
Our students loved playing horseshoes! Many of them have played horseshoes with their families at family gatherings during the summer or in the park. Horseshoes is a great lifetime activity for our students to play. Once they learn to play, our students will be able to play horseshoes throughout their lifetime. It is such a fun activity to play!
Students learn how to use the underhand throw during our horseshoe activity. They also work on throwing off of their opposite foot. Sometimes this is easier said than done for a few! Once our students get the rules, we are ready to play! Since we do use the black mat for accuracy, students can gain points when the play. I will have to say they do love to play horseshoes!!!
Thank you so much for your donation! I greatly appreciate it!”

Space Them Out
Funded Mar 1, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation to my "Space Them Out" project. I look forward to using the new cones for my Physical Education classes. They will help in so many ways. Our students will be able to know their boundaries when playing multiple activities and games, whether we are inside or outside. We also use our cones to mark our class lines. When an activity or game is finished and we have to move back inside the building, we use the cones to let our students know where to line up. It makes lining up easy as well as putting a little hand sanitizer on their hands before we start moving.
My students are always excited for new equipment. They are so helpful with our equipment. Students want to help set up or clean up for classes. The task of carrying something in or out is special to them!
As the weather continues to warm and we can get outside more, the cones will be used every day that we are outside. We make sure our students are spaced out and the cones help mark our area. With two classes outside, we also use the cones to separate the field. Students know which side of the field is theirs to play on during class. Since our outside area is large, we need every cone we have - big or small! Your donation helps make my job easier and our students job more fun! Thank you so much! You are amazing!”

Funded Feb 17, 2021Thank you so much for your help and generosity. Your support of my "How Far Can You Throw" project is amazing! My students love using the Foam Balls in PE. We use them for any indoor throwing/rolling/catching activity. The foam balls are soft and easy to catch and roll. Students are not afraid of trying to catch the foam ball at all. They know the ball will not hurt them so their confidence grows each time we use them in PE.
My students love using the foam balls for a game called Battleship! Students are divided into two teams. Each team has their own "battleships", also known as bowling pins. The objective of the game is to knock down the other teams "battleships" before they knock down your own teams battleships. The students love the game! I love the game because I can focus in on each student's throwing/rolling skill level. I know what cues I need to give to help them become better throwers. Demonstration of a throw is important and I can watch each student throughout the game. We also can work on their aim, direction of the throw and force. A simple game with so many wonderful learning opportunities! A win-win for everyone.
We will continue to work on our throwing and rolling skills using the foam balls. We also will be able to use them for striking skills as well. Hockey comes to mind with my little learners. They can use the foam ball to hit back and forth. The larger ball gives them a larger object to hit and control! Your donation has helped me in so many ways within my classroom!! You are truly amazing! Thank you so much!”

Funded Sep 2, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to my PE program to purchase "Physically Distanced Cones"! I greatly appreciate your help and support of my program. My students were excited to see the new cones used for PE. They immediately said, "we got new cones"! They know when we receive new equipment. The new cones help us line our classes up at the end of PE class and keep our lines distanced apart. The color of the cones makes it easy for students to see and know which cone they are supposed to be at when we move inside the building.
Our students are always happy to see new equipment in the gym. They know if something is new. During our stations activity on Fridays, we use the cones for our sanitizing area. The larger cones help us designate the cleaning area. The bright colors are awesome! When we clean up at the end of the day, everyone wants to carry the "big cones"!
As we continue into our school year and student safety is our main concern, the cones will be used to keep our students safely distanced apart when they are lining up, using equipment or to mark off areas they should not be in during class for sanitizing. The larger cones are easier to see during class. Also, during instructions, students can maintain distance from others. Our "Physically Distanced Cones" project was a small project, but it has a huge impact on student safety and health! Thank you so much!! I greatly appreciate your help and support of my project!! You are amazing!”

For the Skills of Throwing
Funded Dec 16, 2019Thank you so much for your donation towards my project, "For the Skills of Throwing"! I appreciate your support for my PE classroom and students! Students will be able to use the new Flex-Matrix playground ball as well as the plastic softballs in a wide variety of activities and lessons to help learn how to throw more accurately and gain confidence with their throwing skills. While in PE, students work on their throwing skills during activities and units such as: softball, football, ultimate ball and frisbee/scoops. Throwing is a complicated activity which requires students to think about how they are throwing, where they are throwing and when to release the ball. Students then apply what they have learned when their throwing skills are assessed three times a year.
Students are always excited when new equipment arrives! Each class wants to be the first class to try out something new. When we receive new equipment through Donorschoose, I am in awe of the donors! Thank you so much for helping my students become better throwers and more active! I appreciate your help and support of my classroom! Together we can make students more active and have fun!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Oitker
