What a Zoo! Third Graders are Going Wild!
Funded Sep 27, 2019It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, toward "What a Zoo! Third graders are Going Wild". Our trip to the Prospect Zoo was on a beautiful fall day. The kids were extremely excited and couldn't stop talking about the animals that they wanted to see. The afternoon prior to our trip, we looked at the map of the zoo and planned our day and which exhibits we wanted to see first.
The students made many insightful connections with our social studies unit and able to recognize many animals that we learned about. For example, one student was delighted to see dingoes. Watching them walk interact with one another, was a real draw. The sea lion show that we saw was the highlight of our trip as well. The students couldn't believe the many tricks that the sea lions performed, how curious and intelligent those animals are.
The excitement carried back over into the classroom the next day. When we read books about poison dart frogs, children's faces lit up recalling different frogs that they observed at the zoo. The students were eager to research and learn more about some of the animals that they saw gaining their love of reading. Visiting a zoo helped the kids understand the importance of taking care of the environment as it has a significant impact on the lives and welfare of animals. Again, thank you for your donation. We appreciate your kind generosity supporting this project and making an ordinary school day special that the kids will remember years to come.”
With gratitude,
