  • Interactive Learning Through iPads

    Funded Feb 4, 2023

I am writing to let you know that the past week has been very exciting in our classroom as we broke out the new iPad. Students are working out an organized system to take turns with using it, and they are loving it! We have reached over 400 blue ribbons on study island as a class! This is huge and just one way to measure the amazing growth technology can bring to a classroom. I am optimistic for the future learning and growth that will occur as more technology is incorporated into our daily learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shaw

  • Expanding Our Classroom Library

    Funded Dec 23, 2022

All the books have arrived! We did a classroom unboxing on Friday, and the kids were so excited! I heard audible gasps when I pulled out the Harry Potter book set. It is amazing what the power of writing can do! The books are now sorted into our classroom library and ready to be loved.

Thank you again for your generosity and dedication to shaping young minds. We are so grateful! It is my hope that one day I can give back to other classrooms in need and pay it forward. Have a happy new year and thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shaw

  • Teachers Supporting Teachers

    Funded Nov 24, 2022

The generosity and doubling of donations on giving Tuesday made this possible! Thank you so much for your kindness and help supporting not only my students, but other teachers as well! The donations from this project allowed me to reach all of my students and their various ability and skill levels for math and literacy, and also some fun projects too for social emotional learning. Thank you again! I will continue to share photos of resources purchased with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card for my class!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shaw

  • Teachers Supporting Teachers

    Funded Dec 10, 2021

I wanted to take a minute to not only thank you for your generosity and donations that made this project possible, but share the impact that it has made in my classroom thus far. Your donations gifted my classroom a one hundred dollar teachers pay teachers gift card. ANYONE in education knows that this is the BEST place for high quality resources and that it supports hard working teachers and their work. So far, I have been able to purchase for my class math games to practice multiplication and division fluency, multiplication posters and most recently a valentines day craft to create a fact fluency adorable monster. I still have about half of the gift card left and can't wait to see what additional resources I can find and share with my students. THANK YOU AGAIN for support educators everywhere!”

  • Flexible Seating at Guided Reading

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you again for your generous donations to our classroom! They are set up by our small group table in the back of the room. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to assemble them as I am not very handy myself! (: Students get the opportunity to use these stools twice a day, during guided math and guided reading groups.

My students were thrilled when our six new wobble stools arrived in our classroom. They are really enjoying using them. I even had one student tell me they want their own wobble stool for Christmas! They are taking such pride in the stools and pushing them into the table whenever they are finished.

Your kindness is appreciated by my students and I!”

  • Math Manipulatives and Dry Erase Boards

    Funded Aug 24, 2021

We are now three weeks into the new school year, and my students have had many opportunities to use some of the materials donated through donors chose. A crowd favorite in my classroom is dry erase boards! My students were happy to see nice, new, clean whiteboards for them to use. We use these almost daily to review math or grammar concepts. Students write their response and hold up their white board so I can get an idea of what students are understanding important concepts.

We have not had the chance to try out our new clocks yet, but I did show them to the class! They were excited to have their own personal clocks just like their teacher! (:

Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • Dry Erase Flip Boards

    Funded Mar 12, 2020

I would like to thank you for your generosity of donating towards this project! Due to the coronavirus and school closures, I was unfortunately unable to get pictures of my students using their new dry erase flip boards. Please know that even though this was the case my students and I are still extremely grateful! This closure was disappointing for all teachers and students, but it will be exciting to welcome back new students with new supplies. Thank you again for your kindness and commitment to bettering students' education.”

    Ms. Shaw

  • Classroom Headphones

    Funded Feb 13, 2020

I want to express my gratitude for making my project come to life. I was blow away by how fast my project was funded, and by the support from the community. Many of my students have no access to technology at home, so I like to incorporate technology in the classroom whenever possible. It motivates my students and helps them reach their academic goals. After acquiring Chrome Books and kindles earlier in the school year, I was so anxious to get students working on them daily. I quickly realized that the noise level in the classroom caused by all these devices was impacting the other student's learning. Having headphones for these devices allows students to completely focus their attention and make the most of their learning experience. Meanwhile, the rest of my class is not distracted by the sound of the devices. These headphones have truly made a difference in my classroom, and I plan to use them for years to come. Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shaw

My students only get to use technology once a week during their scheduled computer lab time. Having these tablets in my classroom would allow students the opportunity to use technology every school day. I would love to have a technology station or center during my guided reading time. This would allow every student about 15 minutes per day on the tablet. They would play interactive and educational games that will help improve their math facts, reading comprehension, and more, and they will have fun doing so! Technology in the classroom will also be very useful for my English language learners. Games and activities can be translated to their native language and can help them become fluent.
