I created a project that has an emphasis on projectors because as a teacher I want to make sure my students are seeing the materials they need. My phonics program is through Sadlier and many lessons within the text benefit from the use of a projector. It takes away from the material at hand when I cannot perform the entire instruction. "Teacher, Teacher, I can't see the words of the story on your computer!" are words you may hear if you are walking by my classroom. As a first grade teacher, this upsets me because it is essential my students are learning the building blocks of literacy and mathematics. Through elementary instruction, lessons on read-alouds and math sentence construction are the first steps that need to be taken to have a successful year. With a projector and document camera, my students will be able to follow along and stay on task to become the best that they can be.
