  • Pass The Remote Please!

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you so much for your support! My students an I appreciate the generosity so much. I wish you could see their excitement!

I have been getting so much use out of the OSMO. I often use it as a document camera to broadcast books and other materials to my students remotely. I find that using the document camera to share books, rather than use a video keeps them much more engaged. Also, over the month of November I even used the document camera for a setting the table activity and it allowed the students to identify real items and virtually set the table for thanksgiving dinner. They had a blast! I can't wait to continue to use this for years to come, even when we are back in the school building. I also used the laminator, laminating sheets, and ink for many of my students. I was able to send my student a communication book so that he is able to communicate more efficiently with his family. His mother was so thankful and they are using it daily. I can't wait to get even more use out of this when we are back in the school building. Thanks to you I have been able to give my students a more engaging and exciting remote-learning experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Michelle

  • The Right Tools

    Funded Sep 22, 2019

I want to thank you again for generously donating to my fundraiser. My students were extremely excited to see all the new products. In particular, I had a young girl who's eyes lit up when she saw the sensory glitter balls. She is a student who typically displays defiant behaviors, but she was so happy and eager to come to speech to get the chance to play with the "beautiful glitter balls" and watch the glitter swirl and fall. Additionally, the resources have already aided my students in meeting their IEP goals. Many of my students have really benefited from the "positional words resource." They have already begun to master "on" and "under" concepts because of how interactive and appealing the activity is. My students have really opened up and begun to use more words in speech because of how much fun they are having with the new products. They love sorting the physical items into different categories or playing with the magnetic sets all while learning new vocabulary. These products are already making such a difference and it's all thanks to you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Michelle

Many of my students have sensory needs that interfere with attention and learning. Sensory objects like the glitter sensory balls provide sensory input that help my students remain focused and complete activities. The Touch and Learn Picture cards will help my students, especially my ELL students to learn vocabulary through tactile cues. The Positional Words Resource Box is an engaging and interactive activity that will help my students understand prepositions such as “in, on, under, and next to” that are found in many directives. It will also give them opportunities to engage in play and reinforce learning. The Category Sorting Activity will provide an engaging way for my students to learn vocabulary, and build category associations. The Social-Emotional Photo Library will provide real life images to teach my students to identify and express various emotions which will help with social skills. The Create-A-Scene will be an engaging way to learn curriculum vocabulary, expand utterances, and use adjectives.
