This project will allow my students to learn in an environment that is designed with their needs as the main focus. Flexible Seating allows children to feel empowered to make choices about how they learn. This seating helps fulfill the innate need of movement in young bodies, but encourages and guides that movement to be "school appropriate" while still working on curriculum. Having strong core muscles is essential for students to improve their balance, visual perception (learning to read!), and their fine motor (writing & cutting). Our current chairs don't quite fit their little bodies and allow for a lot of slouching/feet dangling. Each of the materials listed in this project will help develop important physical growth!
