The Geostix and pattern blocks will help the students compose and decompose two-dimensional shapes. Some of our students need more practice with this skill and all of the students will benefit from having the physical shapes to build with in order to solve higher order geometry problems. The number rods offer students another tool to use to find different ways of modeling numbers to twenty. The place value games reinforce the students' understanding of numbers to one hundred twenty. The math journals give daily practice with applying different strategies to solve word problems and give a general review of skills.
