  • Preschool Fun

    Funded Nov 12, 2020

The Hands-On Learning materials made a significant impact on the students' learning experiences.

When the wooden pieces were introduced for making upper case letters. The students were initially fascinated by the tactile experience of manipulating the wooden pieces to form letters. They eagerly participated in the activity, showing enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored the different ways to assemble the letters.

When the students first saw the new materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and wonder. They were eager to explore the various activities and resources provided. The multi-sensory approach of the Hands-On Learning materials truly captured their attention and sparked their interest in learning.

A set of the HWT wooden pieces was provided for each student to practice at home. This allowed them to reinforce their skills and continue their learning journey outside of school hours. Additionally, for my fully remote learners and hybrid students, I was able to incorporate live Google Meets sessions focused on the HWT curriculum during their at-home days. This ensured that they had access to the same engaging learning experiences as their peers in the classroom.

By extending the learning opportunities to the home environment and leveraging technology to facilitate remote instruction, I was able to support all of my students in their academic growth and development.”

    With gratitude,

  • Preschool Sensory and Building Materials

    Funded Feb 3, 2024

The impact of your support for our Preschool Sensory and Building Materials project has been amazing for my preschoolers. With the new resources, our classroom has transformed into a vibrant hub of exploration and discovery. Each day, the preschoolers eagerly dive into sensory play activities that engage their senses and ignite their curiosity. One project that stands out is our "Sensory Exploration Stations" activity. The preschoolers rotate through different stations with various sensory materials like colored rice, scented playdough, and water play, allowing the children to freely explore and create. Their favorite station has been the construction site.

The moment our students first laid eyes on the materials was pure magic. Their faces lit up with excitement and wonder as they eagerly approached each station. It was truly heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and joy as they engaged with the materials, touching, moving the materials and experimenting with the different textures and sensations.

As for the next steps in my classroom, we're currently focusing on incorporating sensory play into our daily routines to promote social-emotional learning and holistic development. I will be integrating these materials into various lessons and activities, encouraging collaboration, communication, and imaginative play among the children. Through these experiences, our students are not only honing their fine and gross motor skills but also learning important social skills like sharing, taking turns, and expressing emotions.

Your support has not only provided essential tools for education but has also contributed to the joy, curiosity, and growth of our preschoolers. Moving forward, we aim to continue building upon this foundation of sensory-rich learning, fostering a lifelong love of exploration and discovery in our little explorers. Thank you once again for your generosity and for making a lasting impact on the lives of our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Clabby-Partyka

This classroom project was brought to life by Connecticut State Department of Education.
My little ones will be able to build their language skills through play in the dramatic play center. With the dressing and changing the baby dolls they will label the materials and their actions. They will be encouraged to interact socially and use problem solving skills. The dramatic play area will changes based on themes. They will have the opportunity to be bakers in a bakery, prince and princesses in a castle, serve ice creams in a Creamery, fruits and vegetables at a farm stand, and work on a construction site!! Using their imaginations and having fun while learning important early readiness skills!! They get so excited about the new themes that go home and share their experiences. This is hard for many of my little 3s so we try to encourage the home school connection as much as possible! We have started the year with an Apple and Pumpkin stand. The preschoolers love pretend plans and are learning language and social skills through play.
