  • Flexible Seats for Those Who Learn on Their Feet!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

    My students are loving the new seating options. Many love to stand at the standing tables, it helps them have flexibility and get some energy out. They also like the option to sit on the floor and stretch out a bit more. The bands for their chairs have also been helping them get some energy out in a less disruptive way!

    My students were so excited when they saw the new set up. They were also very curious. Some students immediately gravitated to the new options.

    Next we are working on a discussion and essay around the play we have spent that last month reading and analyzing!”

  • Books that Mirror Students

    The books that I got for this project are independent reading books that students can check out from my classroom library and read on their own. If students finish classwork early I encourage them to find a book to read, and they really appreciate having books that interest and reflect them. There are also times that students just have independent reading time.

    I have many students who love to read and will talk about what they read and I can help them find something that matches that for them to check out. I also have a group of students who hang out in my room for lunch and they have greatly appreciated the new editions to my library, especially the LGBT books.”
