I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of supplies to my classroom. Your support has made a tangible and meaningful difference, and I want to share just how impactful your contributions have been for my students and me.

The supplies you provided—glue sticks, paperclips, pens, hand sanitizer, wipes, highlighters, magnets, and even a lava lamp—have transformed our learning environment in incredible ways. Here's how your generosity has helped:

    1. Improved Learning Experiences: The highlighters and pens have been invaluable for note-taking and organizing thoughts during lessons, helping students grasp concepts more effectively. The glue sticks and paperclips have allowed us to complete hands-on projects with ease, fostering creativity and engagement.

    2. Enhanced Classroom Hygiene: The hand sanitizer and wipes have been a lifesaver in keeping our classroom clean and healthy, especially during cold and flu season. This has helped reduce absences and kept students focused on learning.

    3. Innovative Science Lessons: The lava lamp has been a huge hit! It has provided a captivating way to teach convection, making science come alive and sparking curiosity among my students. They are still talking about the lesson!

    4. Increased Organization and Efficiency: Items like magnets and paperclips have helped us stay organized, keeping our materials accessible and our classroom running smoothly.

Your generosity has not only made our day-to-day activities easier but has also created an environment where students feel excited to learn and confident in their abilities. Thank you for making a lasting impact on our classroom and for helping my students thrive.”

  • Headphones in the Classroom: The World of Connected Play!

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

I would like to say thank you for your donations for our class headphones. I teach 6th grade science and we do not have a textbook so a lot of the work we do is computer based work. We do a lot with a program called snap and read as we have students who come from all over speaking 5 different languages in one classroom. Headphones allows the lessons to be read to them in their native languages. They allow our EL students some freedom over what they are learning and how they learn it.

We have been asking students to purchase their own headphones but with 3 months into school we have numerous children without them and it has been hindering our lessons tremendously. It got to a point where I reached out to parents in hopes of donations but nothing came in. This is why I turned to Donors Choose in order to try my luck. I am so honored and excited to get this wonderful gift of headphones! It truly is going to change our classroom dynamic and help a lot of students out who cannot afford headphones or simply have headphones that keep breaking.

The impact your donations have made will shape my students lives. Even though it might seem small, headphones are a HUGE part of how students learn in my science class. From edpuzzle videos to virtual field trips they are used almost daily! Thank you for allowing this wish to become a reality. Your donations will not go unnoticed! Just today when I was unboxing them I had students who right away asked to use them.”

  • Headphones to help us Learn!

    Funded Feb 28, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students were thrilled to find out that we had received headphones for the classroom. Once they arrived they kept asking to open the package and see the headphones and use them. They loved the varying colors and said that they were better than they expected. Truly they were just so happy than people were generous to donate to something that impacted them. They kept telling me that it is really kindness that counts and they are correct. The donors act of kindness has allowed over 100 students to receive a better education! The students will be using these headphones to go on virtual field trips along with have their textbook be read to them.

The students are most excited about not having to worry about whether or not they have their headphones for the day because they know they will be able to use the class set. A lot of the students don't have the money to purchase their own headphones and this allows them to fit in and feel like a normal child. We have been able to do more online and using the Chromebooks along with take tests that actually read out loud to the students. This helps students when it comes to understanding and learning new science vocabulary.

All of my students in all four of my classes are forever grateful to the people that donated to our class. They felt that their education truly does matter to other people than themselves. With all the craziness going on in this world, the students felt like someone actually did something for them! They truly were moved and I want to thank everyone who took part in the donation process. Thank you a million times and more!”

  • COLOR OUR CLASSROOM!

    Funded Dec 17, 2019

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for donating to help color my classroom. You do not know how excited my students were to know that we were getting a colored printer that they could use to make the room a brighter more welcoming environment! Everything we have used the printer for has made my classroom stand out from projects, to word wall vocabulary, to CER bulletin boards. My students keep saying that they are more excited to be in the classroom because it has come to life! When I ask them what this means they say "your room used to be so colorless and now its so bright and full of life!".We just finished a project on cells and the students had to research an organelle and create a diagram that teaches other students about their organelle. Students printed out pictures to place on a giant sized cell so that they could compare and contrast the different organelles in a plant cell verses an animal cell. This helped them visualize how the two cells are different and how they are the same. This really helped for my visual learners and made my classroom come to life with the giant cells.

We are so grateful to get a printer because we have a lot of English Language Learners in my classroom from all over the globe and it has helped my word wall come to life. I used to just write the vocabulary word on the whiteboard but now I can print out a colorful picture and connect the word to the picture. This truly helps students learn and visualize what the vocabulary word is trying to teach. Thank you a million times and more! I truly wish I could do something to repay you for everything you have done to help make my classroom colored!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leahy

Having a printer with not only black but colored ink leaves the possibilities endless in my classroom. We will be able to print out their individual pictures for their projects. All students feel a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when they see their work in published format. Our science labs would come alive with colored vocabulary word wall cards to help students from other countries learn the language.
