  • Social Thinking in Young Minds

    Funded May 11, 2023

I am beyond happy to say that within 3 short days, my project was completely funded. Thank YOU to all who believed in me and what I do to support this project. The materials and activities will most certainly be super helpful in teaching social language and social emotional skills.”

    With gratitude,

  • A Digital Twist to Distance and In-Person Learning

    Funded Sep 30, 2020

I can't begin to thank you all for helping raise funds for digital materials.

In a time when education and support services is so fluid, it has made my life in terms of planning and giving direct services to my high needs students that much easier.

Having a plethora of digital materials to choose from as well as having the luxury of being able to go to TPT's as frequently as needed has been a BONUS and has really eliminated the stress of trying to figure out how to provide the most adequate of services when not in person in terms of being able to provide solid lesson plans as well as to improve the skills of my students.

In a district when affordable opportunities do not usually come along in terms of being able to purchase materials needed for effective therapy sessions, it has been a huge relief to be able to use the gift cards I purchased. The BOOM Card decks and other TPT's activities are fun and engaging and my students LOVE them and are always fully engaged!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lee

  • Empowering Young Learners To Have A VOICE

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

As many of you know, technology is the path to success world wide.

What you may be unaware of is the impact technology plays in the school setting. In particular, it has a strong impact for children who are not able to use their own voice due to medical reasons, various developmental disabilities and diagnosis such as Autism.

The gift you gave by helping me raise money to purchase IPADS and TouchChat apps to put on the IPAD has allowed for augmentative, alternative communication (AAC) for these little people that will forever shape and mold who they will become now that they "have a voice".

While my students are not able to write letters them selves to thank you because of the severity of their disabilities, I am able to share photos and videos that capture exactly what it is like for them to be able to have a conversation, make their needs known, convey a thought and socialize on some level with being able to answer basic questions that could some day protect them out on the streets...the very basic of information such as "what is your name"? and "where do you live"?

I am amazed every day by their enthusiasm and desire to learn as well as their motivation and the new things they are doing every day. My hope is to get more IPADs and technology into the classrooms for the most effective training and carry over.

Mostly, I aim to make a difference in their lives by letting them know that they "do have a voice" and we want them to be heard, by giving them the tools, instruction and therapy to get there.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lee

By having these iPads, I will be able to offer non-verbal children on the Autistic Spectrum an opportunity to be heard. The district is considered low income and most families don't have the means to purchase the devices let alone the TouchChat technology app that will be necessary (at the cost of $299.99 a device). If I am able to receive the iPads, and OtterBox cases, I will be affording these students an opportunity to carry over the skills that they are being exposed to by way of using my own personal device, during direct speech and language therapy, in the classroom.
