The math games that will be purchased will be used with students in fourth grade this year as well as for years to come. The games selected hit the major clusters that are specific to the following fourth grade essential standards: Math 4.OA.A.A.2 and 4.OA.A.A.3 (Use the four operations with whole numbers to solve problems), 4.NBT.B.6 (Use place value understanding and properties of operations to perform multi-digit arithmetic), and 4.NF.A.1 (Extend understanding of fraction equivalence and ordering). By donating to this project, you will be giving students opportunities to work with each other that will ultimately benefit not only their academics but their social, emotional, and mental well-being. While playing these games cooperatively in pairs and small groups, students will be learning more than math! They will be learning how to become better problem-solvers, increasing their speaking and listening skills, teaching one another, and participating in a learning community.
