  • Online Resource Support

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so very much for your support and encouragement! The technology and resources you have helped provide to our students have proven incredibly helpful, and our students are quite grateful to have been given the opportunity to work with such a wealth of materials.

We have been able to work on real-world projects and activities as a result of your generous donation. Students have been able to engage with college and career topics that have helped them better understand what they wish to do after graduation.

The English Language Learners in our class have been especially grateful, as the materials we have been using have been translated and broken down in ways that strongly support our diverse learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Teicher-Fahrbach

  • Document Cameras for ESL Educators

    Funded Dec 4, 2020

Words could not genuinely describe the gratitude I feel towards each and every one of you. Through your individual and combined efforts, you have helped to make a difference in the lives of youth. In a time where education is changing moment by moment, and classrooms have transcended the traditional brick-and-mortar environment students are accustomed to, you have helped fund a project that has supported "our new normal."

With the document cameras, our ESL educators have been able to work with students on tasks like proofreading, editing, and reading skills. Our students have been able to physically see what we are doing while writing, which used to be achieved through our whiteboards, working one-on-one with students, and images we could pass around in class.

As we continue to grow and evolve teaching methods within remote and blended learning, these tools will support a variety of language proficiency modalities, such as writing and reading, to support English Language Learners for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Teicher-Fahrbach

As the coordinator of the ESL Department, I hope to help all of our ESL students get the support they need from our ESL educators. We have over 120 ESL students, some of whom transferred to our school during the pandemic. A large population of our ESL students have special needs, and we are hopeful that with document cameras and the latest resources in distance learning, we can continue to supply our students with quality and equitable learning experiences. Including myself, there are three other ESL educators in our building who work one-on-one with English Language Learners regularly. Using hands-on activities where students can actively see their teachers annotating, highlighting and working with the content materials will help our youth thrive in learning about skills that will support them as resilient life-long learners.
