  • Math and Organizational Materials for Success

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation to my students! The students will benefit greatly from the differentiated math practice materials and I will certainly appreciate the classroom items. This is the first year I am not purchasing things to start the year out of my own pocket, and I am so appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

  • Social Emotional Learning

    Funded May 23, 2024

Thank you so much for contributing to my Social Emotional Learning project. The students are going to love all the new calming tools and materials to help them learn to manage their emotions. This will result in sooner rejoining their peers in regular general education classrooms and ultimately in their ability to be successful students and adults. Thank you!”

  • Everyone Wants a Snack!

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. It was wonderful to be able to provide snacks for my students every day and they looked forward to this time. The students loved all of them and it provided sustenence during the mid morning doldrums. There were some difficulties getting them initially, but once they arrived the class was thrilled with the choices and suprised me in their preferences. Due to the small class size, they lasted until just last week! Thank you for your thoughtfulness!”

  • Our Beginning - A History Project

    Funded Oct 17, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom for history materials. The students are enjoying the variety of types of books and especially the map. The books give accounts of historical events through historical fiction (stories based on true events), graphic novels, and even choose your own path books. History can be dull and boring if not presented well. The books I received through this project allow student to learn important events in a way that is exciting for them, which helps them to make connections and for it to matter. Thank you again.”

  • Classroom Supplies Needed!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

I am so very grateful for the materials in this project! I have never created a project with things frivolous to make the room look nicer and function better. The bulletin board materials match the carpets in the room and are calming colors as apposed to the regular primary colors provided in schools. We have dry erase dots for the tables now! With these, students can just write on the table while solving math equations. They love this. The "chair backpacks" I have been wanting for years, but never as much as the last year. We have new desks that do not fit anything, and the students can put everything on the back of their chair now. There were so many cool and useful items in this project. Thank you so much!”

  • Every Student Should Have A Book In Their Hands

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you for your thoughtful and generous donation. I have two beginning readers in the fourth grade in my class of on level readers. Throughout the day when students finish early they are asked to take out a book and read until the others are done. This was not equitable because I did not have books the two could read so they looked at picture books or sat, becoming frustrated. After lunch as well I would sometimes ask them to read independently, but they did not have books they could read independently. I am so grateful they can be included during these times with books they can read and practice reading.”

  • Engaging Learning of Current Events

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you for your generous and thoughful donation to my classroom. I love having the selection of Time for Kids, Scholastic News, and Science Spin. The students love reading about current events in a way that is meaningful to them as well as topics that interest them. We have great discussions that include all students. The magazines help to connect them to the world around them and give them a sense of power in knowledge. Reading these is just another way to get text in their hands instead of electronics and empower them Thank you!”

  • Basics Needed

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous for basic items for my classroom. It is because of thoughful people like you that classrooms receive the basic things the students need to be successful.

We use the communication folders daily. They are sturdy and hold homework and papers to go home. The bins are helpful for keeping the students headphones in and other smaller materials. The poly pockets keep my materials in order for the reading lessons are truly appreciated by me. Finally, the stadium chair added one to the room so all students have one.

Again, thank you for your generosity.”

  • Keep the Reading Growing

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you for once again helping to boost my library with books picked by the students. When the books arrived they were excited to get their hands on them to see what was included in the sets and learn about the new adventures. They had fun sharing which they would start with and reminiscing about past adventures of characters. Adding more of the titles they love has made them into kids who laugh and share when they are reading independently. They are kids who ask for time to read. They are kids who no longer hate reading.”

  • History Is Exciting!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation that helped my project get funded. The students were so excited for this addition to their library. They LOVE the I survived series, it has become their new "go to" books. This led to lots of questions, discussions, and inquiries into historical events. The Kate Messner series is super as well to deliver history into their minds in an engaging way.

The students get a chance to independently read in free time, as morning work, and in pairs. Additionally, I read to them as a group daily after lunch, and although I read books by a variety of authors, they prefer the historical fiction.

Thank you so much for helping to provide my students with a fun way to learn history.”

    Ms. Sutter

Please help me give my students learning materials for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our state is not reopening schools for the remainder of the year, leaving the sudents to access learning digitally from their homes. I teach wonderful children who are learning to self-regulate in a Social Emotional Behavior Support Classroom (SEBS). The students in my program are in grades 1-4 and require specialized instruction aimed at developing coping, decision-making, problem solving, interaction, and self regulation skills. The school is a suburban neighborhood elementary school and the students all qualify for free breakfast and lunch. They majority of families are considered at poverty level. These students have the chromebooks they were lent by the district, but not much more. While we are remote teaching/learning, I am finding the students need materials at home to support them in their success. In the classroom, we have access to supplies such as paper and pencils, headphones, and whiteboards, but these students do not have these at home. They show up to class meetings unable to write things down or even draw pictures. Additionally, they are unable to focus on lessons due to noise and need headphones. The closure is truly devestating to special education students.
