My students are given the opportunity to become leaders everyday in the classroom during our small groups. Through the use of technology, students will be able to help lead and direct their own learning to their peers. The students will be doing the lifting of the lessons through multiple power points I have created for them. When introducing a new concept, students are often not able to visualize strategies such as tape diagrams. However, through the use of hands on manipulatives students will be able to visualize and form concepts that lead to equivalent fractions and decimals. Unfortunately, our students do not have access to a variety of books and with the opportunity students would have the option of which book to choose from. Many of my students parents do not have access to take our students to a local library. Help us build our library within a space where students feel safe and can have access to daily. My students are enthusiastic about mathematics and I want to do my absolute best to provide them with all the materials needed to grow and be innovative. My goal is to inspire students to have a love for both math and reading. Help inspire my fourth graders by helping us expand our options with a multitude of materials.
