I am in a unique position to aid special education students in general education classrooms. As we continue in the age of electronics we are starting to do more with technology instead of pencil and paper. Our district has been utilizing software that contains our Algebra I book online versus a physical book. This means our class is taught technology-integrated lessons and assigned work on the same site. However, due to the type of students I assist, technology isn't always the best route when working with children who have visual impairments or other disabilities. Also, I find it more beneficial to work with smaller groups of scholars to provide a more individualized approach with scaffold instruction. That said, writing out problems and solving equations on paper is definitely a proven method. This is why I see it as fitting to invite the community to donate towards a printer and ink cartridges to help me give my students what they deserve. Not to mention, not all of our students have access to internet allowing them to complete assignments at home. But "the good work" continues on. You can help make it happen for our scholars by donating toward a printer and ink. Won't you be a donor?
