  • Play & Learn (Part 2)

    Funded Oct 10, 2022

Thanks to your donations I was able have a light table bin and my students can experience with sensory materials. Today was our first day which we used our light table and the bin. I am happy to say it was a huge success. All students wanted to play with it. They did a fantastic job taking turns and sharing the materials. Another fantastic toys funded the donors was "what's inside the box?" toy. This is a great toy to have to support children in helping them expand their language skills and having them speak in full sentences. Once again, thank you for your support. Your support is making a difference in my students' school experience daily and I am forever grateful.”

  • Play & Learn

    Funded Sep 23, 2022

This week we finally introduced the popular light table during our small group rotations. The activity was to find all the letters of the alphabet that were buried into the beads. Once all the letters were found, students had the opportunity to play with the beads that were left on the ban. They used small cups and spoons to scoop up the beads and serve them as coffee, hot chocolate, and smoothies. One of the features they enjoyed was the fact that the light table has a setting where the light switches colors after a few seconds, changing the color of the beads too. The students were so excited and thought it was magic. So so fun watching them explore this new tool we have in our classroom”

  • Helping Small Hands Do Big Things

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

Words can't express enough how grateful I am for your generous donations.

My preschool students really enjoyed the fine motor sets we have provided them through Donors Choose. I truly believe that before we ask them to write their name, the alphabet, and numbers we should focus on strengthening their hand muscles so they feel successful holding a writing tool. The manipulatives you provided them will help do just that, make their little hand muscles stronger and will help them be ready to hold their very first writing tool.”

  • Outdoor Investigation Station

    Funded Sep 28, 2019

From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! The new furniture has made a huge difference in our outdoor space, now our activities are more inviting and much more enjoyable. The chairs are beautiful and very comfortable. The bench complements the space nicely and the students like to sit on it. Before, students wouldn't even notice this area, now we all gravitate towards this new outdoor exploration center. This outdoor area is very versatile, currently our students are exploring with LEGOS, previously we explored with view finders and science activities (sea shells, toy bugs, magnifying glasses, and various types of rocks). You have made the world of different for our little ones.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fernandez

This outdoor sitting area will be used to further develop the students fine motor manipulative skills. Currently we have two outdoor tables in fair condition. Unfortunately we have no matching chairs, whatever chairs we have are rundown and mismatched, making this area uninviting and not very appealing to our students. I am confident that adding four new chairs will transform our outdoor learning experience and our students will gravitate towards this outdoor center. During outside centers, our students will be exposed to a variety of age appropriate activities to improve their hand-eye coordination, for example: puzzles, lacing, beading, building (LEGO, building blocks), just to name a few. Our goal is to ensure that our preschool students acquire the essential skills for them to successfully enter kindergarten.
