  • Please Help My Students to Create Custom Shirts and Costumes

    Funded May 10, 2023

Thank you very much for helping to support our very diverse classroom. My students were so excited when I surprised them with the box. They had no idea what a Cricut was and how they would be able to utilize it.

You have helped to give many new opportunities to students who otherwise would have not been able to show off their creativity. I have been blown away by the designs the students have been able to create with the Cricut. Some students recently designed classroom t-shirts to celebrate World Oceans Day. We finished our science unit on the Earth's water and then the students created their own shirt designs to show their knowledge on why we need to keep the Earth's water clean.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stencil

  • Cricut for STEM and World of Work Projects

    Funded Dec 1, 2022

Thank you very much for helping our classroom by donating and helping to fund our class project. The students have been utilizing the Cricut for several STEM and World of Work Projects. When the box arrived in our classroom the students couldn't believe their eyes. They were beyond excited to start creating their own projects and bringing their ideas to life. One of the first projects the students completed with the Cricut was to create their own bridge designs. They learned about being an engineer and how real-life engineers test multiple designs before they actually build a bridge. The students were able to test several designs and build the strongest bridge they could by utilizing the Cricut. Thank you very much for making that happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stencil

  • Robots Will Rule The World

    Funded Sep 25, 2019

I want to sincerely thank you for the donation to purchase our Lego robotic kits. The students were completely surprised and thrilled that we actually received them. The students have started learning how to code this year and now they can actually put their code into practice and see the results.

The first project the students did with their kits was a lesson that went along with one of our science lessons. The students were learning about invisible forces and how many objects use a pull or push force to move. After our science lesson they were able to program and see their robots use those forces to move across the floor. Now they all understand the difference between the forces and how many times they actually can work together.

For our next project I really want to focus on the different ways to code their bots. In math, they are learning there are almost always more than one way to solve a problem. I want the students to take their problem solving skills we work on everyday and apply them to coding. We are so thankful for the opportunity to be able to learn with these tools. Thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Stencil

Becoming a life long learner is important, learning happens throughout life and instilling a love of learning is a teacher’s responsibility. People develop their love of learning early and engineering robots will help my third graders fall in love with computer science, which is the wave of the future. Robotics and engineering programs encourage students to delve into exploration and create solutions to problems found in the world. The school community is the perfect place to create solutions to every day problems. The LEGO WeDo Kits will help students explore how robotics may help change the world for the better. These kits encourage creativity while using math, science, engineering, and cooperative learning skills.
