  • Bean Bags and Cubbies

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

Thank you for your generosity! My students were very excited when they saw the new cubbies assembled and in place. All of my colleagues love (and are jealous) how it cleans up the room. My students appreciate that their belongings are in a secure space rather than piled up ion the back of the room.

My students have also taken right to the beanbag chairs, already using incentive points to sit in them. Your donation has truly transformed my classroom space and has made it far more inviting and organized!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lobotsky

  • Let's Get Ready to Math!

    Funded Dec 22, 2023

Thank you for your generosity! The donation has helped in keeping a more organized classroom, as well as reducing time wasted on ensuring all students are prepared for each class. Many of my students struggle with organization and preparedness and this will not only provide that for them, but serve as a model.

My classes have started running much smoother now that I do not have to hand out numerous pencils, replace calculators and find other supplies each time the period starts. I will be using the pencil boxes to provided them with more supples soon, such as rulers, protractors and personal reference sheets!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lobotsky

  • Snacks, Games and Posters! Oh My!

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

Thank you for your generosity! Your support of my classroom has helped it become a more welcoming environment!

The posters have brightened up the room and give my students easy access to our commonly used mathematical concepts while the incentives allow me to reward good behavior and keep a well functioning classroom.

The games have helped the student with their number sense and built up their multiplication, division, addition and subtraction skills while we studied the order of operations unit.

Of course the mechanical pencil refills are always helpful and always needed!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lobotsky

  • Analog Classroom in a Digital World

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you for your generosity! It has greatly impacted my ability to navigate the classroom and bring it into the modern era.

Using the iPad to update grades and document digital comment while conferencing with the students has streamlined my work greatly, especially with the easy to use Apple Pencil. I now do not have to spend extra time transferring grades from a paper copy to grade book, giving me more time to create engaging lessons.

Once again, I think you for your generosity and supporting my classroom's upgrades.”

    Mr. Lobotsky

  • Sci-Fi & Fantasy Books

    Funded Feb 1, 2022

Thanks for your support with supplying my classroom with the some books! We are always looking for new books and often get the same things on repeat. This project allowed for a different books to be introduced to our classroom library.

While reading doesn't happen much in math class, as I am a math teacher, one of our school wide goals is to get students reading more independent books. As an avid reader, I fully embrace this goal and support them through this introduction of different books.

Thank you for your generosity and support!”

  • Two Monitors To Grade Them All

    Funded Mar 29, 2021

Thank you for your donations during this unprecedented time. The pandemic created many new challenges for teachers, and many of them revolved around technology. With various levels of technological skills at our school, I found myself lending assistance to most of the teachers as I was one of the most technologically savvy, outside of our Tech expect. Having the second monitor (and the surge protector to power it) allowed me to improve my multitasking between grading, lesson planning and providing assistance to all my co-workers, in person and remote.

While we may be back in the building full time, the second monitor continues to aid in my lesson planning and more. As most of our resources are online now, I am able to split my screens between my lesson plans and our online book, streamlining the process of creating rigorous and engaging lessons.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lobotsky

  • Classroom Bassics

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thanks for your support with supplying my classroom with the basics! We are fully stocked on tissues and battled through flu season without running out (as usual). I have already chewed through an entire box of printer paper! And that was just the one I got through here. I should be able to make it through the rest of the school year safely though.

The students are always supplied with a pencil, and have started using mechanical pencils more regularly. They thoroughly enjoy these over the classic wooden ones.

Thank you for your generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lobotsky

There are many resources available online for students who are struggling with the academics. A big resource for mathematics is Khanacademy.com. The website gives students an alternative way of instruction, addition targeted practice problems, and trackable progress. This is also just one of them many resources we use from the internet to help push these students in their academics. Students will also be able to use the computers to write up their various projects in school as many of them do not have home access to computers. Giving students more access to computer use will greatly increase their success outside of the classroom. These donations will help close the achievement gap in students struggling with mathematics. Utilizing the online resources will increase the student exposure to high quality instruction and immediate feedback. Improving their computer literacy will boost their resumes and college excellence.
