Classroom Organization for Young Artists
Funded Oct 30, 2023Your donation to our classroom has significantly benefited our school community, and I am excited to share its impact with you. The donated carts have helped organize student work, worksheets, and learning resources for 10 grade levels and 300 students between 3k-8th grade. The folders donated also allow me to package student artwork for my early education students to take home and share with their parents at the end of the quarter. In recent weeks, our school community has received over 100 new students who are all English learners and have minimal resources. The sketchbooks provided allowed me to seamlessly integrate our new students into our classroom routines. The sketchbooks also helped me to model the skills we were learning and allowed them to draw their ideas freely.
The materials provided also supported various art projects the students have made. For example, students used the clay donated by the Equitable Foundation to make fake food sculptures inspired by multiple Pop artists, and the students just loved it! It was also therapeutic for some students who love the sensory input from squishy materials. My early education students used the colorful tape to decorate their dream catchers for MLK day. For our current project, students are working as architects to design a building that they would contribute to a city block inspired by the works of Jacob Lawrence and Romare Bearden. They were excited to receive new sketchbooks for this project, where they completed their warm-up exercises and began brainstorming by drawing their buildings.
Your support of my project is greatly appreciated by both myself and my school community. The impact of your donation is ever lasting and every single item stands to benefit our school and students for years to come.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Equitable Foundation.Sketchbooks for Young Innovators
Funded Dec 1, 2021The students absolutely loved the sketchbooks and were so excited to receive them! I've been able to use these sketchbooks for multiple school years and students have used them diligently to complete drawing exercises and cultivate skills even in other art media.
Students used these sketchbooks daily to complete their warm up's and exercises for the day. They also used it to complete thumbnail sketches for their projects. We so appreciate your donation because these sketchbooks have helped archive the creative progress of my students and asses their learning.
Next steps for me is to get the students to practice creating art with better quality materials to improve the quality of their work and further hone their skills. I am putting a lot of emphasis on teaching students how to properly use materials and the sketchbooks continue to be a great place for students to experiment and reflect on their progress. Thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Terlonge
