Students need different sensory textile objects that are different but also familiar for them to grow in their core academics. Providing students with paints, sand, play-doh, and other materials that gives them different textures and movement increases the chances of pushing them to learn and grow. Students who have different needs need a lot of different materials and objects to learn and grow. Having things like pillows to sit on in the reading corner and be comfortable makes it less stressful on them giving them a higher chance of success. I am unable to provide my students with all the different things that provide them with comfort and familiarity to create a positive happy relaxed academic environment that is needed in a special education classroom.
