These selected books directly align with our reading workshop curriculum. Read-aloud time is an important component of the workshop classroom. These daily read aloud experiences provide daily opportunities for my firsties to hear rich, high-quality fiction, poetry, and informational text. The exposure to these books will spark their appreciation of stories, excite their curiosity about the world, and stretch their critical and creative thinking. Research shows that children of all age benefit from and enjoy being read to aloud. Our read-aloud time is a time where we can focus on the joyous side of reading. It is my number one goal as a teacher is to help children discover their passion and wonder in the world of books!
