  • An Apple a Day for Speech

    I want to thank you so much for your donations to this project. It means the world and is greatly appreciated. This MacBook allows me to support my students. I am able to create my lesson plans and modify materials I need for sessions. My students who receive individual services are allowed to use the computer during class to access their documents for speech, as well as their google classroom. They also use the computers to watch videos/strategies they can for their speech fluency. Students enjoy having this technology in the classroom.”

  • I Can't Hear You

    Funded Sep 21, 2020

    I would like to thank my donor for funding my Sony Headset. Being remote has many challenges, and the biggest of all is making sure my students have a voice. At the start of the school year, I was teaching in the building to some remote students at home and being in school made it difficult to hear them. There was a lot of outside noise, students talking in other classrooms, and distractions in the halls. Having the headset has allowed for better communication between students and the teacher.

    I was able to integrate this headset with the technology I use such as my iPad and my laptop. Students were amazed how I no longer asked them to "please repeat that". I was able to hear every word the students made.

    This headset is very useful when conducting Google Meets for speech therapy. I am able to use the headset at times when there is outside noise to better stay focused on my students. My students are better able to understand my live instruction. Thank you again for the amazing headphones!”

  • "Engaging Speech" With an iPad and Pencil

    I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the generous donations. Being that this year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and stresses, having an iPad and pen has allowed teaching to become a little bit easier. I am teaching both remote and in-person students and having the Ipad has allowed the lessons to become more interactive.

    I am now able to use many programs that is compatible with the pen, so that students can see my notes, highlights, and comments. Prior to having the iPad, I had to take pictures of my notes and upload them for my students to see my comments. Now I can write directly on my powerpoint with ease.

    Also being that many students have iPads at home, I now can use the iPad I received to walk them through step by step how to complete assignments, comment on peers works, and how to use google classroom. Thank you all again for your generosity.”

  • Printing Pretty for Pathologist (Speech)

    I would like to thank you so much for the wonderful colored printer. Being a speech-language pathologist in a school is tough job, even tougher when you do not have the materials needed. Being able to have a colored printer has allowed me to target each student's learning learning style, especially the visual learners. I no longer have to waste precious time highlighting and hand coloring the black and white papers I have printed and can spend more valuable time with my students preparing for amazing sessions. Also, students can now print their hard work along with their visuals for bulletin boards and projects in color. Thank you again for the generous gift!”

Most of our students are visual learners and materials that have colors, pictures, enlarged prints, graphic organizers, charts and graphs give students the support they need to feel successful and empowered. With this printer we are requesting, we would be able to provide students hard copies of the strategies they are learning, in order to carry into their classrooms, bring home to share with family and in many cases, utilize in their everyday lives.

About my class
