  • Powerful Distance Learning Hub

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank for you support and encouragement during this tough academic time for our students. They have shown resilience and adaptability, and have been flexible with all the adjustments we have made in order to make sure they can learn as best they can during in this challenging covid landscape.

The distance learning hub has made instruction so much more efficient and streamlined, which is a necessity during a time when kids are staring at screens for hours at a time. Classroom engagement and seamless transitions within lessons has always been an important part of teaching, but it is even more crucial during virtual learning. This project has helped keep children engaged and learning everyday, and has been a blessing!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lynch

  • Comfy Cozy Listening Center

    Funded Oct 14, 2019

The idea of loving literacy, and building a love for literacy comes up a lot in education circles. A lot of the talk centers around good book choice and supports for reading to make it more accessible. Another less talked about part is the environment for reading. This is where this project is so essential.

With this center, we were able to create a warm, comfortable environment for learning and reading, that has sparked excitement in students to pick up a book and read. This had led to greater engagement in centers, where independent reading can now take place in an environment where students are excited to be. This center has helped tremendously in fostering a love of reading that will continue for the rest of students' lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lynch

  • Wonderful Word Building

    Funded Oct 14, 2019

These resources have enabled us to differentiate learning for our students. In addressing equity needs in our district, one of the most important aspects of equity is meeting the needs of the student. In differentiating centers, and providing meaningful work for students, we are meeting the student where they are while still providing a standards driven level of rigor.

Students were beyond excited to see what materials they received. Centers time is already a fun time for students because they get to work collaboratively, and now with the updated materials, they will be able to even more effectively work on the skills they need to get ready for 1st grade.

In our classroom, we are using these centers to more effectively prepare students for rigorous small group teacher led work. We use centers reactively so that when students are struggling with a skill or need more automaticity we can set up centers for them that will meet their needs”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lynch

These materials will ensure that students have equitable access to word building resources, to not only extend their knowledge of how print works but to help them practice taking apart and putting words together, which will increase writing skill as well. Word building activities are an essential part of the day for all literacy students, and serve double duty in terms of helping to increase not only reading but writing skill as well. The enjoyable nature of all these activities ensures a high level of engagement and maximizes the potential for learning! Students will build stronger memories with words with these tactile, hands-on experiences!
