Funded Oct 11, 2023My students and I would like to extend our greatest appreciation possible for this generous gift. Previously, we had no center games for them to play with. It has been several years since I have taught kindergarten so I didn't have the extra materials for them. These learning puzzles and games will provide them with the opportunity to use critical thinking skills while also practicing letter and number recognition. Also, several of these games are sight word games. I am using these materials for center time for both math and ELA. These games will be very well loved and used and enjoyed for the entire year! Thank you so much!”

Funded Jul 29, 2023Thank you so much for looking into this project. The kids enjoy using new technology. The ipads they get from the school are used, so having a new ipad is really enjoyed by them. Your support in getting this ipad is so generous, kind and considerate. Mostly this ipad will be used by me. I will use it to keep track of student photos so I can make a yearbook. Previous I was using my phone but the students photos were filling up my google drive. I will also be communicating with parents thru our texting app. I can share photos with the parents and also post class stories with photos for the parents to enjoy. Another way I will be using this ipad is to keep track of student's assessment scores. Once again, Thank you so much!”

Crazy for Computers!
Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for donating to this project. It warms my heart to know that so many people care about education and the children we are servicing. These laptops will make an impact on the students in so many ways. Not just because we can use them during instruction, but because they are new. My students very rarely get to use a piece of technology that has not been previously used. Often times they are missing keys or have cracked screens or are outdated. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to be a part of Donors Choose and have this type of impact on my classroom.”

Funded Dec 21, 2021Wow! Our library sure is lucky! These books were an incredible addition to our classroom library. Your contribution has made a huge impact in our independent book reading choice. At a time when children are conditioned to read everything in digital format, these real books became a "special treat". They are all chapter books at or above 4th grade reading level. Some of these books have challenged the children's thinking, opinions, and experiences of the world around them. Some of these books are classics that we enjoyed in the 80s and 90s. Some of these books are poetry. Some of these books inspire the children to be bold, brave and make a difference. Once again, thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom.”

Snackity Snack Snack Snack!
Funded Dec 17, 2021It is with the upmost appreciation and gratitude that I am writing to thank you for donating to my classroom. The contribution you made to our classroom community was very much appreciated. In a time where the kids don't have access to snacks during the school day, this donation came in handy. The snacks were very much enjoyed by the entire class. While the kids enjoyed the snacks during the school day, there were three days a week where we stay an hour extra for tutoring and homework help. At this time, the snacks were extra appreciated! Once again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

Funded Nov 1, 2021Wow! What can I say? This project was so much fun. The kids had an amazing time. The slime kit comes from Elmers and all the products were non-toxic. First, they had to read the directions on how to measure and mix the ingredients. Then they mixed the ingredients together and some of them noticed that they did not measure correctly and had to use critical thinking and team work to fix the problem. After the ingredients were mixed together and the slime was revealed, they had a tactile experience in playing with the slime. The kids thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
I am so grateful to your contribution to my classroom experience!”

Funded Oct 23, 2021Thank you so much for the donation to my classroom. I used the donation to purchase art supplies for a special project that embraced each child's unique cultural background. Your contribution made the experience a rich and diverse experience for the children. They thoroughly enjoyed sharing their cultural backgrounds with their classmates. Currently, our school does not have an art program or art supplies. These supplies are culturally responsive from Crayola. They make a product that comes in a diverse range of skin tones. The children used these products to make self portraits. I am going to use the remaining product to make totem poles for another project. Once again, thank you so much for contributing to my project.”

Ready for Research!
Funded Nov 13, 2019Thank you so much for donating to this project. These laptops have made such a difference in my students' lives. Everyday they take turns using them for online reading and math instruction, assessment, research and typing and publishing essays. Each child completes 45 minutes of reading instruction and assessment each week. A student is on the laptops at all times througout the day. Our school uses MyOn which has an online database of thousands of books. Each child has a MyOn account and these laptops provide the kids with access to these books. Once again, thank you so mich for you donation to my classroom.”

Funded Oct 14, 2019It was very difficult to come into the school year with broken laptops. The keys were missing and there was graffiti on the screen that could not be cleaned off. My school had implemented 3 online programs, but provided me with these horrible lap tops. These tablets are new and clean and updated. They allow my students to access those three online programs. My students have used them for reading ebooks, accessing online math games, and researching on the internet for our All About Animals project.
These tablets have made a world of difference to my students because they know they have reliable technology to use in school.”
